As neurodivergent people, we’re used to being told that we’re too much, too intense, too loud, every "too" under the sun. As a result, many of us try to make ourselves smaller, diminishing our light and hiding our incredible strengths.
Despite the trauma from a one-size-fits-all education system and the many challenges we’ve faced in workplaces, many of us have come to self-employment because we know that we have SO more to give – we just need the right environment and people around us that allow us to embrace our strengths AND our vulnerabilities
As neurodivergent business leaders, embracing our whole selves is vital for our well-being. When we suppress parts of who we are to fit in, we suppress everything that makes us unique and brilliant too!
When we accept ourselves for exactly who we are, we allow ourselves to heal, process our emotions and find a sense of inner peace – and we find out where our biggest strengths lie.
But the question is, how do we even START to do that when we’re so used to having our shortcomings pointed out to us?
